Coconut trees hold immense value globally, often hailed as the "Tree of Life". In our region of Pollachi, known as the "Paradise of Coconut Trees", these trees have been nurtured with care for generations. At kokogrow , we forge close partnerships with traditional farmers in the area to locally and sustainably source our raw materials. By utilizing the discarded byproduct, coconut tree husks, we are fortunate to have access to an abundance of this pure, renewable asset. This resource proves to be one of the finest natural products for cultivating crops.
At kokogrow, maintaining an effective and efficient manufacturing process necessitates a number of machines, which inevitably consume a significant amount of electricity. However, given our commitment to environmental stewardship, we have made a conscious investment in wind energy as a sustainable power source. Situated in the outskirts of Pollachi, we have our own windmills harnessing the region's average wind velocity of 15 to 20 kmph. This provides us with ample renewable energy to supplement our electricity requirements, aligning with our priority of prioritizing the environment.
In our manufacturing process, multiple washing cycles are essential but result in tainted water. To address this challenge, we have constructed our own Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). Specifically designed for purifying industrial wastewater for reuse, this method efficiently treats the tainted water. Through this process, we are able to recycle up to 90% of the water that we use, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and responsible water management.
Given our location in the southern part of India, we receive an average annual rainfall of nearly 94.5 centimeters. However, due to seasonal variations, there is significant spatial diversity in rainfall distribution. To address this, we have implemented an extensive rainwater harvesting system at our facility. This system captures runoff from rainfall, which is then purified and utilized as a groundwater supplement for our factory operations. We take pride in being one of the few factories worldwide to maintain such an eco-friendly system for self-supplying water, underscoring our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
